Overview

Located halfway between Manchester and Leeds, the Turnpike is a 200 year old coaching inn, with six bedrooms, overlooking Booth Wood Reservoir and the South Pennines. It is situated just off the busy A572 which is the most popular road between Oldham and Halifax.

This site has been recently refurbished to an immaculate standard and would suit an experienced food operator who wants to develop a creative menu at a site that is bursting with history. We are looking for experienced, entrepreneurial operators with a background in destination food outlets. Experience of letting accommodation and delivering function events is highly desired.

Trading Facilities

  • As you enter the Inn you will be greeted by the Bar and Reception area
  • On your left is a large bistro that can sit up to 70 people
  • There is also a large function room which is a perfect spot for any occasion overlooking the reservoir
  • To help cater for the above there is a fully commercial kitchen with internal and external walk in freezer
  • On the second floor there are six ensuite bedrooms
  • Externally there is a terraced beer garden for up to 30 people and a large elevation to the side of the pub that could fit up to 100
  • The main car-park can host 30 vehicles.

Private Accommodation

The private living accommodation is situated just past the pub in a separate cottage. There is a lounge, kitchen and bathroom with two spacious double bedrooms.
